Tour Description
Discover Poland’s Royal Castle Wawel. From 1333 to 1795 the Wawel Royal Castle was where the kings of Poland resided and the symbol of Polish statehood. Nowadays the Castle is one of the country’s premier art museums, open for visitors offering its best exhibitions.
The exhibition consists of the king and queen’s private chambers and court rooms, often converted into guest rooms. During the tour, you will admire 16th-century wooden ceilings, stone windows, portals and fantastic tapestries. In the north-eastern part of the building, the oldest part of the castle, there are Royal apartments with a bedroom. During your visit, you will pass through the beautiful columned hall, which served as the king’s private dining room in the 16th century. Today in the hall you can see portraits and statues of Polish kings. During the tour, you will also visit “Kurza Stopka”, a place associated with numerous legends, best described by the official guide, and the Porcelain Cabinet exhibition.
