Discover the secrets of Wawel, visit its two most important exhibitions! Take a look at the memories of Wawel’s splendor and listen to the wonderful stories of the medieval castle told by an official Wawel guide during a tour of the Private Apartments and the Royal Armory.
The exhibition consists of the king and queen’s private chambers and court rooms, often converted into guest rooms. During the tour, you will admire 16th-century wooden ceilings, stone windows, portals and fantastic tapestries. In the north-eastern part of the building, the oldest part of the castle, there are Royal apartments with a bedroom. During your visit, you will pass through the beautiful columned hall, which served as the king’s private dining room in the 16th century. Today in the hall you can see portraits and statues of Polish kings. During the tour you will also visit “Kurza Stopka”.
Discover amazing Royal Armory and admire the huge collection of armor and weapons. The armory’s collection includes richly decorated weapons given to Polish kings by medieval rulers of Europe. You will see original armor and weapons collections of the winged hussars. During your visit, you will have a unique opportunity to see a 16th-century set of German plate armor, as well as excellent rifles, arquebuses, petrinals and pistols.
